Maria Spiropulu

Maria Spiropulu is a scientist and an experimental physicist. She has been researching elementary particles and their interactions in the past 20 years at CERN's Large Hadron Collider and Fermilab's Tevatron. She used for the first time the double blind data analysis method in searches for supersymmetry at the Tevatron. She led the preparation for the search and discovery program of the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. She is pioneering alternative 'new physics' search analysis platforms and is inspired by making connections and drawing ideas from other areas of modern science.
