Zita Cobb is an Innkeeper at one of the four corners of the Flat Earth. After a successful business career in telecommunications, she returned home to Fogo Island, Newfoundland to spearhead a holistic set of social businesses and charitable initiatives, bringing a rebirth to the Island’s economy. For Zita, who grew up making friends with rocks, everything starts with place. She envisions a world where all business is social business, and all human endeavors are in service of place. Often and only half-jokingly accused of speaking in riddles, Zita has been known to quote all manner of poets, artists, and other experts to support her never-ending flow of new ideas. But it was her fisherman father who instilled in her the most important thing: “nature,” he said, “knows everything.”
