From a young age Sophie has grown accustomed to a nomadic existence. By the time she was 18, she had moved home 14 times and lived in a variety of different countries; only once having to be smuggled across the border for forgetting her passport.
Now Sophie travels the globe with a different purpose; to bring the wonders of the natural world to a mass audience in the hope that future generations will wish to preserve it.
After graduating from Bristol University with a degree in Psychology-Zoology, Sophie headed out to the Kalahari Desert to study meerkats for Cambridge University. Meerkats were her golden ticket into the BBC Natural History Unit when she landed her first job on “The Meerkats” feature film, a joint venture between the BBC NHU and Weinstein Company. Since then Sophie has worked on a wide variety of wildlife TV series for BBC, Discovery, BBC Earth, Channel 4 and NDR.
Most recently Sophie worked as an Assistant Producer on “The Hunt” and “Life Story”; both landmark productions for the BBC narrated by David Attenborough. Her next challenge is to produce the polar episode of “Our Planet”, a landmark documentary series made by Silverback Films for Netflix in collaboration with WWF.
