A graduate of Tufts with a pair of masters degrees in marine biology and marine policy, Sheril has written widely on science, contributing to Science, Nature, Oecologia, Newsweek, Discover Magazine, The Nation, The Washington Post, Scientific American, Climate Progress, and Seed among other publications. Her book The Science of Kissing explores one of humanity's fondest pastimes. She's also co-author of Unscientific America, which looks at the threat of Scientific Illiteracy.
She is currently a Marshall Fellow, and Director of the Project on Energy Communication at UT Austin. She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband David Lowry.
