Mark Stutzman is best known for his rendition of the young Elvis Presley Stamp, Mark Stutzman’s illustrations continue to adorn advertising, products, poster, magazines, book covers and more. His work is most often seen in advertising such as Broadway’s “Young Frankenstein The Musical” or David Blaine’s event posters. He has also created artwork for movie products and premiums for Batman, Jurassic Park and Space Jam. He most recently completed his fifth Steven King cover. With clients like the US Postal Service, McDonald’s, DC Comics, MAD magazine, The New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Time, Esquire and many others, Stutzman has had the opportunity to share his take on the world through his illustrative works. His focus is most often on pop-culture, sometimes serious or scary and sometimes humorous. Variety is prevalent in his body of work with a common thread being his idealized realistic style. With his studio, Eloqui, located in the tranquil rural setting of the Maryland Appalachian Mountains, Stutzman and his fellow illustrator and wife Laura, have found what they feel to be a perfect setting. With advances in technology and communication, it was possible for the Stutzmans to locate the studio virtually anywhere and still send sketches instantly via the internet and overnight original works. The close-knit community has been a huge advantage to him where using models is concerned. He has found willing and sometimes anxious friends and neighbors to pose as a body double for a celebrity portrait or be themselves for any number of characters. In his work, you never know whose face or what setting may appear. Sometimes even his own! To view a complete portfolio of work by Stutzman, visit www.markstutzman.com.
