Edward Tang is the visionary and cofounder behind Avegant, a next-generation retinal imaging display company developing the award-winning Glyph headset. Born in Texas and raised in Taipei, Mr. Tang received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, specializing in micro-electrical mechanical systems (MEMS), and joining the faculty full time researching and developing cutting-edge nanofabrication technologies in 2004.
Among a host of other entrepreneurial ventures, Edward founded Tang Engineering out of Ann Arbor, Michigan, where as President and CEO he worked for years developing technologies for the MEMS biotechnology industry in areas of autonomous surgical robots, implantable neuromodulators, and microfluidic drug devices, scribing over 20 patents along the way.
Now, as cofounder and CSO of Avegant, Mr. Tang casts and directs the strategic roadmap of the company, working with both investors and bleeding edge technologies to chart the company's path. He lives in Menlo Park, California with his wife and daughter.
