Annette Hoff

Annette Hoff, artisanal winemaker at Cima Collina and apprentice falconer from Carmel Valley, not only provides many of the delicious wines we enjoy during bibulous moments at EG, but also is learning to train birds of prey for falconry. Why? Was it for pest control in the vineyards? As a matter of fact, yes: that is exactly why. As a person licensed by the State of California to practice falconry, Annette’s vision is to encourage a change in how birds are managed in all of Cima Collina's vineyards. At EG this year, please thank Desi, her wild red-tailed hawk (and Annette) personally as you sip your wine without a pest in sight.
