Andy Rosenberg, sports director from West Palm Beach, is a television sports director par excellence. As a kid in Boston he dreamed of being Ted Williams, but the twists and turns of life took him off the field and into the broadcast arena, where he has been documenting and subtly dramatizing the greatest sporting contests of our time for decades. Andy has been entrusted with the biggest events in sport — such as the NBA finals, Wimbledon, the Olympics, the Super Bowl and the World Series — winning him an amazing 17 Emmys. Over the course of his career Andy has conceived innovative ways of shooting sports footage, literally calling the shots, using technology and camera placements that have since become de rigeur. When asked about his work, he says he is a teacher as much as a director, but more than anything else, a storyteller.
As Andy puts it: “In my career I’ve been a Lilliputian in a Brobdingnagian world.”
