Canadian artist Anita Kunz has been an internationally published artist for over four decades. She has produced interior and cover art for many magazines including Rolling Stone, The New Yorker, Time Magazine, Newsweek Magazine, Vanity Fair, the Atlantic Monthly and The New York Times Magazine. She has lectured widely and taught numerous workshops in Canada, the US and such far flung places as Instanbul and India. She has received an Honorary Doctorate from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto and a second Doctorate from Mass Art College of Art and Design in Boston. She has been appointed Officer of the Order of Canada, Canada's highest civilian honor. She has also received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal of Honor. She was also recently inducted into the Museum of American Illustration Hall of Fame. In 2018 Canada Post released a stamp honoring her illustration work. Her personal work involves social justice issues and animal welfare. She spends a lot of time with rescued primates and has collaborated on paintings with a capuchin monkey and artist named Pockets Warhol. She lives in Toronto with one dog, four cats and one human.
