Van Dyke Parks

Hailing from Hattiesburg, Van Dyke is a composer, arranger, record producer, instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, author and actor. Many know him for his collaborations with Brian Wilson and as an arranger and lyricist for the Beach Boys. But his eclectic appetite has brought him into collaboration with The Byrds, Arlo Guthrie, Randy Newman, Ringo Starr and countless others. The prolific Mr. Parks has composed, arranged and directed soundtracks and occasionally acted in a great many film and television projects, and released roughly a dozen albums of his own music. Parks is launching an underscored spoken-word program with The Kronos Quartet: "A Coney Island of The Mind", by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Feb. 2017.
