Known for: outrageous socks; Moses or Santa beard; and a larger-than-life personality...frequently found: dancing on stage to James Brown before large audiences of classical music concert-goers; engaging in friendly (though passionate) sparring with Colleagues; and converting total strangers to followers in hotel pools, first class cabins, and locker rooms. Gerald Slavet is the co-CEO, co-founder, and relentless advocate of From the Top, the preeminent showcase for young musicians. A former real estate developer and Artistic Director of Wayside Theatre in Virginia, he¹s served on the boards of New England Conservatory, the American Symphony Orchestra League and the National Foundation for Jewish Culture. He is passionate about helping great kids achieve their potential and inspiring them to give back to their communities.

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a superb program for EG2020. However, in light of growing and legitimate concerns regarding the rapid spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which have gutted international events of all sizes, we have made the difficult decision to put EG on hiatus until it is once again deemed safe.


We know how much each of you look forward to EG and we were looking forward to seeing old friends, and welcoming many new ones, but we do need to prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, presenters, and partners, especially those traveling from afar.

We will be in touch in due course with future plans.
