Born and raised in Colorado, David spent his youth alpine ski racing and white water kayaking.  He attended the College of Idaho on a skiing scholarship where he earned degrees in physics and mathematics.  After college he moved to Wyoming where me met wildlife cinematographer Shane Moore and began working as his camera assistant.  Over the next five years he worked his way up to Cameraman and Director of Photography.  His credits include BBC’s Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Natures Great Events, The Hunt, Atlantic and Galatee/Disney Nature’s Oceans just to name a few.  He also produced and directed the feature documentary One Mountain based on the story of a big-mountain skier.  David has won four Emmys for cinematography.  He now lives in LA with his girlfriend Cara Freeman and is working on the BBC’s Series Ocean (Blue Planet 2), Silverback Films Our Planet, Discovery’s series Deadliest Catch, and Bering Sea Gold.

Register for EG 2020.

30 April - 2 May 2020

Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to bring you a superb program for EG2020. However, in light of growing and legitimate concerns regarding the rapid spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which have gutted international events of all sizes, we have made the difficult decision to put EG on hiatus until it is once again deemed safe.

We know how much each of you look forward to EG and we were looking forward to seeing old friends, and welcoming many new ones, but we do need to prioritize the health and safety of our attendees, presenters, and partners, especially those traveling from afar.

We will be in touch in due course with future plans.
